To provide a quality education for all children in a caring, cooperative environment which respects individual dignity, fosters self-worth and encourages personal excellence and life-long learning.

The Estevan Public School Division believes:

* in the dignity and infinite worth of each student.
* in a curriculum which is relevant and responsive to the needs, interests and abilities of the individual.
* the best indicators of our successes are the achievements of our students, the commitment of our employees, and the confidence and trust of the community which we serve.
* in fostering the desire to learn and preparing students for life-long learning.
* in promoting a sense of personal worth as well as respect and concern for others.

Historical Perspective
The Estevan Public School Division was formed in 1892 under the name of Estevan School District No. 257. The first elementary school was opened in 1893 on the second floor above a general store on Fourth Street. The first school was built in 1894 where the present Post Office is located. It was named Central School but was affectionately called the Stone School. Valley View School, Hillside School and the Estevan Collegiate Institute (presently the Estevan Junior High) were erected in 1912. Westview School was built in 1955 , followed by Pleasantdale School in 1958, Hillcrest School and a new Hillside School in 1959. The old Hillside School served as the board office until the fall of 1993. In 1979 , the Public School District assumed trusteeship of the Estevan Collegiate Institute and became the Estevan School Division No. 95.
