From barges and troopships on to the shore,
Sprang our boys with a mighty roar.
Through shot and shell and a manmade hell,
They surged ahead, though many fell,
Fighting and dying at every step,
Our
brave heroes fought at
Long will the memory of that raid remain,
Long we'll remember each gallant name,
As in history the story of their deeds goes down,
To be read by our children in each country town;
As with obstacles and Huns galore,
They swept all aside and surged to the fore.
To accomplish the task that they were given.
May God bless them and grant them a place in heaven.
