I was pleased to learn that a group of senior citizens had undertaken the publication of a community history book for the city and district Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Such a book should be a source of pride for the people of south-eastern Saskatchewan and, at the same time, an opportunity for the reflection upon the attitudes, values and character which shaped a community and allowed it to mesh with the Canadian whole.

To the contributors and to the people of Estevan, I offer best wishes and hope for their continued prosperity and the achievement of their collective and personal goals.
