The great national heritage Canadians now enjoy is founded upon the spirit and vision of who have gone before. It is very important for future generations to know and honour those events which have shaped this country.
Probably the most meaningful histories now being recorded are the ones researched and published by dedicated groups on a local basis and nowhere is this better exemplified than by senior citizens in the Estevan district. Many people have devoted countless hours of their time to what I am sure has a labour of love – collecting, verifying and documenting the personal human stories which form the colourful history of the area. This valuable book will be lasting account of life and times Estevan’s pioneers.
I commend the authors on their good work and I thank the great Canadian pioneers of this district whose precious story is revealed in these pages.
