Danger Signals
The public may find much satisfaction in learning that, although the lignite strike has been terminated the commission of enquiry will prceed with the investigation. From its findings the public will learn to detect the signals of approaching trouble, and so to forestall it. What appears most essential to that end is that it be known who or what interest stood to gain by paralysing the coal industry and what measure of success or failure resulted. The Press of the province, the radio and the under-cover agitator are all busy spreading Soviet Propaganda desgned to further discontent among the farming element of the community. The farming industry is in a bad way at present, and offers willing ears to whatever maybe the suggestion of revolutionary change of systems. An apostle of Communism is billed to appear in Estevn this month, to tempt his hearers with promis of betterment throught he overthrow of government, confiscation of property, suppression of religion, dissolution of the marriage tie and failmy life and enslavery of labor, as exemplified in Russia. Must the movement be allowed to drift and gain momentum until guns are again forced into action?
