Every year, in the spring, our middle years school creates a major performance. This performance is developed in conjunction with the Fine Arts Curriculum. Our performance is called Splash. Splash includes activities from all four strands of the Arts Education Curriculum: Drama, Music/Band, Dance, and Visual Arts. Over 70 percent of our student body is involved in this performance.
The creation of Splash begins with a script written by a staff member. This script centers around a theme chosen earlier in the year. Our theme this year is "A Splash of Klondike Goldrush"
This year, our goal is to integrate the
Splash performance into more areas of the curriculum. By linking
the performance to the Grassroots project, we will be able to
use technology to integrate other areas of the curriculum into
the overall theme.
