Assignment

"The incorporation of Indian and Metis contecnt promotes the development of understanding and positive attitudes in all students toward Indian and Metis peoples.\" p. 30

Using the information which students obtained on treaties in Saskatchewan, students will be encouraged to respond using a genre of their choice eg. narrative, interview, news article, editorial, diary/journal, short story, poem, research paper, etc. Students will consider audience and purpose in selecting a genre. (p. 136)

Once students have completed the prewriting, planning, drafting, revising, and editing, they will utilize word processing to publish a final draft of their writing. (p. 137) Students will be encouraged to publish their writing on the school webpage.
