Number the Stars

Number the stars is a novel by Lois Lowry based on world War II.Annemarie is the main character who's best friend is Jewish and as we all known Hittler tried to killed all the Jews. Annemarie is afraid for Ellen her Jewish friend so her family take her in as thier daughter Lise who was killed earlier. Many times there were almost caught, even though. Annemarie and Ellen are fictional you can imagine them as real people.

Papa had secret codes so that when the Germans just happened to over hear there conversations he could talk talk to Uncle Henrick without the Germans knowing what the were up to.

Annemarie,Kirsti,Ellen and Mama went to Uncle Henrick's so that it would be harder for the Germans to find them.Annemmarie was almost caught when she was in the forest delivering a sceret package.Ellen and her parents were secretly smuggled to Sweden where they would have a chance to live.Many Jewish people were killed and many injuried but there is a chance for Ellen and her parents to survive. Will they take the chance to come back to Copenhegen Denmark? Will Annmarrie ever see her friend again?

Sadako and The Thousand Paper Cranes

The grade 3-4 class read the book Sadako and The Thousand Paper Cranes. It took place at Hiroshemia,Japan. It is a story about a young Japanese girl and her friends and family. Many people were killed and many burned.

Sadako had caught Lukemia and wanted to make one thousand paper cranes but she only made 644 the she made the paper cranes because her friend Chizuko told a old legend that if you make one thousand paper cranes you will get one wish.

Sadako wished to get well her wish didn't come true beacause she fell a sleep and dreamed that the paper cranes were real and flew out of the window and then sadako die peacefully.After Sadako's death many childern folded the rest of the paper cranes.
