Modes of Transportation

Long ago, most kids walked to school or rode a horse. Some rode in buggies during the summer, but they came by horse and sleigh in the winter.

When there were older students (Gr.10-12), some of them drove to school in their cars . They still do, but now they go to the Estevan Comprehensive School.

Some students (and teachers) may have walked to school on snowshoes.

School buses were used to transport students after the centralization of the school units in 1958. In the winter during storms, bombardiers were used to get the students to school.

Today we come to school by walking, riding on the school bus, or by riding our bicycles. Sometimes our parents give us a ride to school.
