Greg Salmers called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm.

 

Motions

 

Motion to approve the minutes of 22Jan2007, moved by Madeleine Valentine, Wendy Suchan. Carried.

 

Motion to send Joanne Effa, Rheta Storozuk, Wendy Suchan, Greg Salmers to Module 4, the 1Mar2007 event in Regina. Moved by Bert Roach, seconded by Carole Gress. Carried.

 

Motion to adjourn, moved by Rheta Storozuk at 5:10 pm.

 

Other Topics Discussed

 

1)                  Wendy Suchan indicated Waterflood has 6 German workers. Bob is contact.

2)                  Greg Salmers: SRI & Do-All have been contacted & invited to our meetings or submit training needs statements.

3)                  Bert Roach offered to host a literacy event for interested Chamber members in the next several weeks.

4)                  Treasurer reported previous balance was $9,609.43, current balance is $9,055.31.

5)                  Newspaper and radio ads have be placed, aired/printed, and paid for.

6)                  Other possibilities for promotion include PSA’s, household mailing, announcements in Chamber of Commerce newsletter/website, direct invitation by phone, in person & by email, and hiring someone to do the contacting.

7)                  Joanne Effa will contact White Bear and Carlyle to see if there is interest there.

8)                  Group was in favour of placing more advertising regarding our next meeting.

9)                  Hiring someone to script final plan, for $1000 or $1500. Greg will have a person/proposals for next meeting.

10)              Notice: CNIB will have a meeting in Leisure Centre 22,23Feb to show adaptive technology.

11)              Ocean Man did not receive ABC Canada funding as hoped.

12)              Rheta Storozuk will contact Shawna Palmer, Dept. of Community Resources, re: youth needs.

13)                Paper and online content was provided by Debbie Hagel on adaptive technology.

14)                Family Centre will bring Yuliya Dvusilova(Kazakhstan), Bibiana Wiechert(Argentina) to next meeting.

15)                Next meetings: Mondays: 5 & 19Mar2007, 4pm at library.
