Motion to purchase general commercial liability insurance. Moved by Wendy Suchan, seconded by Kim Marcotte. Carried.

Motion to acquire cheques for our new bank account. Moved by Rheta Storozuk, seconded by Kim Marcotte. Carried.

Motion to approve the Literacy Coordinator job description, as amended. Moved by Gloria Shepherd, seconded by Rheta Storozuk. Carrried.

Motion to obtain membership for Estevan Area Literacy Group Inc. in SALN and SLN. Moved by Marilyn McCutcheon, seconded by Wendy Suchan. Carried.

Motion to approve Gloria Shepherd, Wendy Suchan, and Marilyn McCutcheon to attend SALN, SLN, and Literacy Commission Orientation Workshop events respectively, and financially support reasonable registration, travel, meal and accommodation costs for same. Moved by Rheta Storozuk, seconded by Roswitha Schuster. Carried.

1) Pot luck supper for all in area connected to literacy to be held at library 5-7pm Saturday, 3Nov2007. Greg to create poster.
2) Greg will enquire about cost of directors' liability insurance, and email group findings.
3) Library will host literacy festival 10am-3pm Saturday, 24Nov2007. Lunch to be included. Family Centre to be invited.
4) Coordinator, once hired is to create, with input from group and stakeholders, brochure about literacy services in our community.
5) Literacy Attendant has extra tutoring capacity at present. Literacy classes at Church of Christ mentioned.
6) Suggestion: employ Skype with audio, video elements, for literacy instruction.
7) Suggestion: Regular social/learning time for literacy folks at library.
8) Next meeting: Tuesday, 30Oct2007, 4pm, Library. Group to review Literacy Coordinator applications.
